What is American History?

American Hisory is a course I developed based upon the the book “Creating America – A History of the United States” by McDougal Littell.

It covers the history of the United States from its beginnings through the early 1990’s.

The textbook provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s history, combining motivating stories with research-based instruction to help students understand the historical development of the United States.

Creating America - A History of the United States

  • McDougal Littell is a publisher of textbooks for middle school and high school students. They published “Creating America” as a history textbook intended for use in American history classes.
  • This textbook provide a comprehensive overview of major events, people, policies, etc. throughout American history, from early colonial times up through modern day. “Creating America”  focus on key developments that shaped the nation.
  • Topics covered include: early colonial settlement, the American Revolution, writing the Constitution, westward expansion, the Civil War, industrialization, World War I and II, the Cold War, Civil Rights movement, and more recent decades.
